Chappaqua is an unincorporated community (or "hamlet" in local parlance) and Census Designated Place located in the southern Hudson Valley of New York State within Westchester County in the Town of North Castle. The hamlet is part of the Chappaqua Central School District. Commuter rail access to New York City is available from Chappaqua Station.
Chappaqua exudes a quiet, small-town feel amidst plentiful land and open space. Known by many as the adopted hometown of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Chappaqua's residents are nonetheless drawn more to the hamlet's close-knit community than they are to its celebrity factor. They especially appreciate the surrounding natural beauty, the accessibility to New York City, and the high-quality public schools.
