West Windsor derives its name from the town of Windsor in England, and was previously part of a larger municipality known as Windsor Township, which was partitioned into western and eastern sections in the late 18th century to form West Windsor and East Windsor, respectively. Princeton Junction derives its name from the local train station that was built in the latter 19th century to serve a connecting train line to neighboring Princeton.

Standout Feature
The rural and bucolic living, as exemplified by the popular and award-winning West Windsor Community Farmer's Market, where residents come together every weekend year-round to enjoy locally-grown and homemade offerings from several dozen farms and purveyors from across New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania
West Windsor is a township located in central New Jersey within Mercer County that encompasses the Census Designated Place of Princeton Junction. The township is part of the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District, which it shares with neighboring Plainsboro. Commuter rail access to New York City (and inter-city rail access to other major cities including Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington) is available from Princeton Junction Station.
West Windsor exudes country living with its surrounding farms and open spaces, but Princeton Junction Station's location along Amtrak's and New Jersey Transit's Northeast Corridor - the busiest train route in the United States and one that connects several East Coast states - keeps the township well connected with the region's major urban centers. In addition to the attractive greenery and stellar transit access, residents prize the township's outstanding public schools, the area's largest park and recreational area, and equidistant location between New York City and Philadelphia.
